Daily Inspiration: New Discovery

This 'Chief Joseph' Pine came in on one of our recent plant loads. I LOVE how different it looks! This picture shows you it's winter color. In the summer the yellow turns more green, making it look more like a regular small, specimen pine. The cold winter temperatures bring out this vivid yellow. This specimen was VERY recently discovered in the Wallowa Mountains of northeastern Oregon. It's so new that we don't even know it's mature size! However, they have been around just long enough to determine they are a slow-growing pine, making them a great accent in any garden!

Look how it 'pops' when placed around normal evergreen colors!
